I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 66, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew, who is 27. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I’m enjoying treadling on my 201K Singer and I collect Miniature Sewing Machines and currently have three Essex , one Singer 20, one Singer 40, two Vulcan Miniatures and my latest, a Grain. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

QUILTING THE KITTIES!

Doing the free motion quilting around the appliqué - using the new open toe foot I purchased from America - I was able to quilt nice and close to the edge but the foot makes a clunk clunk sound which the other free motion foot I have does not!  Any ideas ?

I have mentioned before about the aluminium bobbins I'm now using in my Brother PQ1500.... Well I just have to say again I LOVE THEM!   My quilting has never been so neat and the stitches are so perfect!

It's raining!  Lovely sewing weather and that's what I'll be doing all day tomorrow!

Happy sewing,
Cheers from Helen

  2. can't help there but it looks great... my first thought was is your pressure right off so it is not hitting the base plate? don;t really want it clunking do you...
