I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 66, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew, who is 27. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I’m enjoying treadling on my 201K Singer and I collect Miniature Sewing Machines and currently have three Essex , one Singer 20, one Singer 40, two Vulcan Miniatures and my latest, a Grain. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

IS THERE ANYTHING LEFT FOR ME TO BUY?????

Go-Cutter Dies

New Rotary Cutter, Bag Pattern with handles and
a great new gadget.... Turn It All

Baby fabrics and some great brights!

Some "Noddy" fabrics and lovely Baby fabrics and more
fabric to make Ballerina Bags!!

As promised, here are the pics of the goodies I purchased at the Craft Show.  The Rotary Cutter is by Martelli and I'm told it is absolutely fabulous!  I'm just about to find out!! (more info later).  The Turn It All  - endorsed by Elianor Peace Bailey.  I had seen this tool on someone's Blog and thought "how clever is that!!" and just had to buy one for myself (all the girls bought one too!).    The Bag pattern is another one by Monica Poole of Moonshine Designs.  My friends and I just LOVE Monica's patterns.  I can't wait to make this one!  If you click on the links you can read more about the items!  Of course, I just had to have some fabric and as you can see..... I did buy just a little bit:-)     I collect old "Noddy" books and couldn't resist the fabric (have absolutely NO idea what I will do with it as yet!) and I added to my collection of baby fabrics to make the quilts for my Niece who is due in February (baby girl) and then I found lots of gorgeous ballerina fabrics so naturally I bought a fair bit of that.  The Brights will be great for some of the Christmas gifts I have planned for the little ones in the family.   I only photographed one piece of each, trust me..... there are duplicates and triplicates of most pieces:-)))

I know you are probably wondering "why so many Go Dies"???     Well, the supplier I have been purchasing my dies from is going out of business so he had great deals on all the Go Cutter supplies!  and YES... I KNOW I AM YET TO MAKE ANYTHING WITH THE DIES I ALREADY OWN!   Hey, I'm busy you know!!     I have actually cut many Tumbler blocks (6-1/2") so I have kind of started to make something:-)  I can hear Minette (you know who you are!) saying "oh right, believe it when I see it!!"

So my friends.... there you have it!   Now my problem is "where can I put all this stuff"?????   My little sewing room is groaning with just about every space taken.  Don't you worry..... I have a plan!  More about that later....

Happy Sewing!!

TIS THE SEASON

... TO STITCH!

"TIS THE SEASON"  CHRISTMAS STITCHINGS   by   Natalie Bird (The Birdhouse Patchwork Designs).

I guess this project will be for Christmas 2012! as I only have two of the blocks finished so far, but I will continue to work on them for the next couple of months as they are very small and great to take "out to coffee".

Oh bother!!  forgot the door knob!

I have one other Christmas item almost finished, will post a photo soon.

Surprisingly little sewing being done at the moment.  I just don't know where the days go..... I just know they're GONE!

Oh, and in case you were wondering....... YES!!! I DID GO TO THE BRISBANE CRAFT SHOW... AND YES!  I DID BUY LOTS OF GOODIES..... some more dies for my go-cutter, naturally I bought just a "bit" (loud laughter here) of fabric, some new gadgets, quilt hangers and of course....... a new bag pattern (because I only have about a zillion of them and I needed one more!).  I'll try and get some photos and post about all the loveliness soon.

So my next post should be loaded with photos and of course, lots of finished projects (lots and lots of loud laughter here).

Well, it's time for one last cuppa, then off to bed.....

Happy Sewing!!
