QUILT LABEL

I was NOT happy with the label I did for the Farm Quilt but I was hurrying it as I thought we were gifting the quilt over the weekend.  As it turned out, we did not do that and I was able to print another label and allow it to set overnight.  I washed it today and then prepped it the way I prefer to do a label.

This is the first version of the label, as you can see.... It was very blurry and faded - I did not leave it long enough before rinsing it.  

Here is the new one! It was left overnight to set and then washed today.  I trimmed it to size and added some borders.

I then cut a piece of Weaveline fusible interfacing the same size and with fusible side facing right side of label, I pin it in place (do not iron!).  Sew all the way around , do not leave a gap.

Trim the edges and corners and cut a slit in the Weaveline for turning right sides out.

Flip it right sides out, poke the corners as square as possible, finger press it all and position in place on the quilt ... NOW  it can be ironed down.  The fusible interfacing will hold it down to make it so much easier to hand sew in place.  I will be doing that tonight.

We will be gifting the quilt tomorrow.

I SPY………..

All machine binding, triangle label - quick and easy! 

I used a 5" charm pack and included two of each block

As usual, I have included some little books plus a little teddy!

This photo was taken outside.  The little quilt was just out of the dryer!

This idea of a "mini I Spy" is not my original idea!   It comes from here.  The cute thing about these little mini quilts is that they can be used as dolly quilts eventually!

This little parcel will be mailed tomorrow.

THANK YOU Kristi - I love it!!!   My quilting friends tell me that I own every tool known to man when it comes to sewing and quilting, but I DID NOT own the Sneak Peek Preview gizmo!

It is always so exciting to receive a squishy parcel in the mail!  I can't wait to take my beautiful new bag for its first outing - for coffee..... of course!!

Back of quilt, with label

Today we finally delivered the Chubby Chicks quilt, so I can now show you the back of the quilt and label.  I made this label using THIS method.  I find hand stitching through the treated label fabric to be hard going, but by adding a border around the label, hand stitching is easy!

The weather has turned very cold here today, so I have just dug out my stash of flannel fabrics and might run up a quick throw.  I have had these fabrics for years, always intending to do "something" with them, so now I will do a very quick friendship star pattern using very big squares - I think I have enough fabric to do another quilt top so might cut out that one at the same time.  It is for a churn dash pattern.

School holidays started for my son yesterday, so it's three weeks of fun, fun, fun!  I know, it seems like only last week that we just finished the last lot of holidays!!!!  Fortunately he is a tennis player, so for much of the time he will be out on the courts!

Time to sew!!
