I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 66, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew, who is 27. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I’m enjoying treadling on my 201K Singer and I collect Miniature Sewing Machines and currently have three Essex , one Singer 20, one Singer 40, two Vulcan Miniatures and my latest, a Grain. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

HELLO DOLLY!

Our darling little Chloe (my great-niece) is turning 5 next weekend - I'm making her a doll (same dolly I made for little B.B.) and also a bag which I haven't even started yet. It's very cute, in the shape of a ballerina costume.

As you can see, the dolly hasn't got her stuffing as yet! I love how these dolls are put together - you build the whole thing BEFORE you do any stuffing. The pattern was in a Patchwork and Stitching magazine, the designer is Toni Alexander. If you click on Toni's name, you will be taken to the Pattern page on her blog.

Today my friends and I went to a Quilt Show. The Quiltsitters group have their Quilt Show in a lovely old hall out at Brookfield. We had a lovely time, even though it was very hot today - it's only early Spring and it already feels like Summer!!

Next weekend I'm going to another Quilt Show - my girlfriend is taking me out for my birthday!

Tomorrow it's forecast RAIN so I'm planning a day of sewing!

I mentioned that I had learnt a few lessons about running a give-a-way ..... I won't cover everything in this one post, I'll do it bit by bit.....

1. Many bloggers don't list their own blog in their Profile page.
2. Many bloggers have a totally different BLOG name to the name they use in their emails and comments -- sometimes with NO link to each other.
3. So many bloggers are a "no reply" email address - very annoying unless they really don't want to be found! I suggest starting up another email address which you can use for blogging -- that way you don't have to use your own personal family email address.

Happy Sewing!
