Our darling little Chloe (my great-niece) is turning 5 next weekend - I'm making her a doll (same dolly I made for little B.B.) and also a bag which I haven't even started yet. It's very cute, in the shape of a ballerina costume.
As you can see, the dolly hasn't got her stuffing as yet! I love how these dolls are put together - you build the whole thing BEFORE you do any stuffing. The pattern was in a Patchwork and Stitching magazine, the designer is Toni Alexander. If you click on Toni's name, you will be taken to the Pattern page on her blog.
Today my friends and I went to a Quilt Show. The Quiltsitters group have their Quilt Show in a lovely old hall out at Brookfield. We had a lovely time, even though it was very hot today - it's only early Spring and it already feels like Summer!!
Next weekend I'm going to another Quilt Show - my girlfriend is taking me out for my birthday!
Tomorrow it's forecast RAIN so I'm planning a day of sewing!
I mentioned that I had learnt a few lessons about running a give-a-way ..... I won't cover everything in this one post, I'll do it bit by bit.....
1. Many bloggers don't list their own blog in their Profile page.
2. Many bloggers have a totally different BLOG name to the name they use in their emails and comments -- sometimes with NO link to each other.
3. So many bloggers are a "no reply" email address - very annoying unless they really don't want to be found! I suggest starting up another email address which you can use for blogging -- that way you don't have to use your own personal family email address.
Happy Sewing!
Very cute doll. Any little girl would love to have her. Cant wait to see the Ballerina bag.
ReplyDeleteI'm guilty as charged. My email and blog address and blog title dont match at all. But i totally hear you on the no reply blogger thing. Sometimes I want to email someone in repsonse to a lovely comment they've left on my blog and it's so annoying when I cant!
Helen, the doll is so cute. She will love it. I zipped over to Toni Alexander. . .what darling patterns she has. I especially loved the swimsuit dolls. I also can't wait to see the ballerina bag. Another pattern I'm going to have to buy.
ReplyDeleteThe dolly is going to be so cute. She is adorable right now without her "fat" on her.
ReplyDeleteLots of giveaways state that a no-reply response is deleted. It's hard to track them down. I do have a whole seperate e-mail for my blog. It is so much easier that way.
Oh the dolly looks sweet . I must make a few but I find them difficult to stuff properly.
ReplyDeleteLove the litle doll...I put it in my favorites...thanks!
ReplyDeleteCute dolly, and I am well and truly told off for being a bad competition enterer(?) - but you have put me right, thank you x
ReplyDeleteHi Helen, What a cute doll. Which Patchwork and Stitching magazine was the doll pattern in?
