I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 66, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew, who is 27. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I’m enjoying treadling on my 201K Singer and I collect Miniature Sewing Machines and currently have three Essex , one Singer 20, one Singer 40, two Vulcan Miniatures and my latest, a Grain. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

PRETTY BALLERINA

Keeping with the Ballerina theme that seems to be happening in my sewing room......... a Ballerina Tee Shirt for little B.B.!!!

I have had this pattern since 1996!! I found some iron-on rhinestones for the tutu, I think B.B. will like the "sparkles". I'm never a star at doing the hair - this time I used Colonial Knots but I should have used 4 or 6 strands of thread, instead of the 2 or 3 I used.

Today I am working on the bag I started way back whenever!! Photo soon!

It's raining and cool today...... absolutely delightful sewing weather!! MH is watching the Games on tele so he's happy, the teenager is out buying clothes for a semi-formal he is going to this week (I am SO HAPPY I am the mother of a boy and not a girl.... the money the girls spend on Formal dresses and shoes is ridiculous!!).

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend,
Happy Sewing!

  1. Ballerina girl has lovely hair! And I'm glad I didn't have daughters, for that reason at least! I've sewn on a binding and the finish worked for the first time in YEARS! Susan

  3. The weather here this weekend is sublime. Warm and I'm wearing a tshirt. Bliss.

However my tshirt is nowhere near as gorgeous as the one you just finished. She so sweet.

And yes you definately do have a ballerina theme going at the moment!
