I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 62, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew who is 23. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I've recently started collecting Miniature Sewing Machines, two Essex and one Singer 20. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING AND EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE!

The clean up continues........ I wish the carpet was better (this used to be my boy's play room - therefore lots of spills) and I still don't have decent curtains (old sarongs hanging there right now) but I have almost put everything back in its place and have sorted through tons of "stuff".

I'm just about to tip out the fabric drawers and re-sort all the bits and pieces. My sewing table is almost empty of items which are not supposed to be on the table to start with!! and my "design wall" still has a few bits which need sorting and throwing probably (notes, ideas, patterns etc).

I have figured out what I'm going to do with the fringe for B.B.'s Beach Quilt. I will add one more border (pink, of course!) and insert the fringe top and bottom between the quilt and the border - this way I can still put a binding around the whole quilt (will use the wide binding method - link removed, site problems) and I'll be able to use up the leftover pieces of all the fabrics in the binding:-)

Happy Sewing!
