I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 66, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew, who is 27. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I’m enjoying treadling on my 201K Singer and I collect Miniature Sewing Machines and currently have three Essex , one Singer 20, one Singer 40, two Vulcan Miniatures and my latest, a Grain. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

KEEP INSIDE THE LINES!

Like to make your own?   free tutorial at LBG Studio

I used up some leftover fabrics from the Toy Twist quilt
I made for our little Maisy plus some jungle fabric I must
have had for ages!

Hello!

The weather here in Brisbane has been so hot and humid again that sewing is the LAST thing one wants to do!!    but today I just had to get this little gift made as Fred and I are off to the little girls birthday party tomorrow!   I chose the Mini Colouring Caddy, a free tutorial at LBG Studio.   I had to make mine a little larger to take the books I had purchased and somewhere along the way I still did not make it quite wide enough!  anyway, I'm sure the little birthday girl will like it.  I have included Jumbo Crayons, suitable for Age 3 plus two great books which are beautifully printed and educational as well!

I'm afraid that no other sewing has been achieved lately although I did get some things made for the Mini Easter Sales Table my craft group had a couple of weeks ago, but didn't get any photos!  Plus, I made a new bag to take to the Stitches & Craft Show last Friday but that's another project yet to be photographed!

As we have the Easter long weekend stretching in front of us, surely I might get in to the sewing room and get something QUILTY done!!!   I have a few projects to choose from!

Wishing you all a Happy Easter!

Helen

  2. Hi Helen, Glad to hear that your hubby and your son both have the all clear. Great news. As you say you can now start thinking about stitching. Also you know the Welcome to the North Pole you are starting. Well I made it a few years ago (I told you we had similar tastes). I wanted to show you a picture of it. The only way I can think of is to put it on my facebook page. So I'll do now.
