I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 61, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew who is 23. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

NEWFO # 1 ... 2013

I have joined the NEWFO challenge.  All you have to do is start a new project during the month and post about it on the last day of the month.....  yes, yes.... I know... I'm a day late!   but I'm here now!!  and I'm only late if you live on my side of the international date line!!

My Newfo # 1 project ...   a pillowcase for Lachie... using up all the scraps and chunks from the art folders I have made for him...

.
I TOOK THIS PHOTO WITH MY COMPUTER PHOTO BOOTH, SO IT'S NOT THE BEST PHOTO!
I PURCHASED THESE PLASTIC ENVELOPES AND INSIDE I HAVE PUT ALL THE SCRAPS
THAT I COULD FIND FROM THE ART FOLDERS
I HAVE SET MYSELF A DEADLINE OF MAY 2013 TO GET THIS PROJECT FINISHED.

I'll be linking up over at Cat Patches .. tomorrow :-)

Happy Sewing!!

Update on Fred:   Good news.......   TODAY IS THE LAST DAY OF CHEMO - FOREVER!  tests next month to see how everything is going, but doctors very happy with him.  He should start to feel a little better in a month or two and then slowly recover from the chemo and operations.  He will be a new man in 12 months!!   ooohhhhh !   thanks again for your wonderful support!

  7. I'm so glad for both of you that Fred's chemo treatment is over.

The idea of a project a month is a good one.
