I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 66, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew, who is 27. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I’m enjoying treadling on my 201K Singer and I collect Miniature Sewing Machines and currently have three Essex , one Singer 20, one Singer 40, two Vulcan Miniatures and my latest, a Grain. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

YES SIR, YES SIR.... THREE BAGS FULL!

I was able to finish another bag last night and one more today...

This a better photo of the first one!
Three bags, all ready for the Cazna Gardens Ekka Day!

I have had a lovely two days working on these. I listen to my I Tunes when I sew..... look away if you can't stand Country & Western Music or "old" stuff!!..... Jim Reeves, Patsy Cline, Charlie Pride, Sonny James, Mickey Gilley, Roy Orbison, Connie Francis, Brenda Lee and Dean Martin - just to name a few!! I can listen to this music all day, every day - it's good to listen to when ironing also!!

In the middle of making bags, I made a few more siggy blocks too, as suddenly I have none left in my stash!

Hope the weekend is going well for everyone!

Happy Sewing!

  3. I just love them. Next rainy day, I'm going to take the plunge and give that pattern a go! Thanks for sharing. I had to laugh when I saw your title. The song sparrows in my back yard sing a little tune this time of year that sounds like "Baa, baa, black sheep, have you any wool?", and I go around singing it all day when I hear them. ~karen

  4. Great bags! They look wonderful, love the fabrics. You need to add Elvis to your playlist! Then you would really rock.

This bag is so easy to make, check out the link in my previous post!

Ekka Day - my mum is in a Nursing Home and they hold their own Ekka Day (they can't go to the REAL Ekka {see my link in previous post} so they have their own in the Dining Room of the home. They have chickens hatching right now and on the day there is all sorts of entertainment for them!
