I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 66, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew, who is 27. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I’m enjoying treadling on my 201K Singer and I collect Miniature Sewing Machines and currently have three Essex , one Singer 20, one Singer 40, two Vulcan Miniatures and my latest, a Grain. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

ONE, TWO, NINETY-NINE.... 100

Yep, I'm almost up to 100 posts..... so I guess you all know what that means (no, it does not mean that I talk a lot..... ok, I suppose it does!!) It means that I'll have to organize a GIVE-A-WAY!!

Now, I'm thinking just a very simple process, I'll let you know more about it soon. I'll have to put together a parcel first! You will want to know what the give-a-way actually is!!

Stay tuned!

BTW... the pretend Ekka day at my mum's nursing home went well - didn't sell too much but had a lovely time anyway. I have plenty of the polar fleece scarfs leftover which will now go to the charities we donate to.

WWI - still no update on my weight loss efforts - hope to get back to the gym very soon!

  1. I'm glad that you had a fun time despite the fact that the sales weren't the greatest.

    Congratulations on nearing 100 posts!

  3. One Hundred post?!! Wow, what an accoplishment! Congrats! I just finished a quilt for a friend! Not a big deal, EXCEPT FOR THIS: She is my best friend from high school and we had not seen each other in 47 years! If you have time to visit my blog the quilts we made each other and the story is there! I think you would enjoy it! missd

  7. I love your color choices! It seems that I'm always finishing up other peoples projects and having to deal with the consequences of THEIR color choices. I told my husband that the reason I can never find anything in my extensive stash to back the donated quilt tops I get from other people is because I only have PRETTY fabric in my stash! lol

    Happy quilting,
