I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 66, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew, who is 27. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I’m enjoying treadling on my 201K Singer and I collect Miniature Sewing Machines and currently have three Essex , one Singer 20, one Singer 40, two Vulcan Miniatures and my latest, a Grain. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

THERE WERE FIVE IN THE BED.......

These little darlings are my latest hand stitching project. I had finished the embroidery on yet another Farm Quilt and wanted another project... and lucky for me Patchwork and Stitching came out with this cute Bear quilt (sorry about the photo - I stuck the Bears over the top of the Brights Baby Quilt up on my design wall!!) The quilt design is by Toni Alexander who also designed the dolls I recently made!

Disappearing Nine Patch ... I have to send a huge THANK YOU to my blogger friend True Blue Quilting Nana for her great tip about using hair clips to hold the backing and wadding down on a table when bulldog (binding) clips won't open wide enough!! I now have the top all pinned ready for quilting. I'm thinking lots of swirls all over the top as I need practice at getting my swirls and loops bigger.... I tend to scribble little swirls and loops! This quilt is for our couch, probably for MH who has not received a quilt from me! He does have numerous crocheted ones his mother made many years ago!!

Brights Baby Quilt # 2....

I think I have enough blocks made to piece together this next version of the Brights Baby Quilt. This one is for our friends grandson. I'm putting together the borders now and will show a pic of the finished top soon. This photo shows the blocks in their pairs (one + and one -) I'm just playing with the layout now.

Tomorrow I am going of a bus trip with my friend's quilting group. We are heading to the Sunshine Coast... should be fun!

Happy Sewing!
