I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 66, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew, who is 27. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I’m enjoying treadling on my 201K Singer and I collect Miniature Sewing Machines and currently have three Essex , one Singer 20, one Singer 40, two Vulcan Miniatures and my latest, a Grain. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

I WISH I MAY,... I WISH I MIGHT....

SEW A FEW MORE STARS FOR THE QUILT TONIGHT!!!!

These two blocks are the sum total of my work today! :=((( Firstly, I slept in! ... and then of course the cup of tea with hot cross buns!! and yes, we have ours with vegemite on them!!! Into the sewing room and made one block... another cup of tea and oh, why not.... a few more pieces of the poor chocolate Easter Rabbit which I started on last night (couldn't resist).

Out on the verandah for some hand sewing, then a little television and suddenly I just had to have a lie down..... AGAIN! went into a deep sleep, woke up and finished off another star block and suddenly it's dinner time!!!

I am thankful I have frozen meals at the ready, so one is in the microwave as I type, some steamed rice to go with it and hopefully back into the sewing room to finish off at least a couple more stars!!

I hope everyone has had a lovely Easter ... my choccy rabbit only has his feet left!

Happy Sewing!

  1. The stars keep coming. These are great. I love it when you use a directional print, it adds so much interest.

  2. I've been sitting here feeling negligent about Easter. Usually we have a big dinner with family. This year, no kids around, husband off for a few days to Illinois and so I'm here alone. I've lazed around, cleaned a closet, sewed a few things, enjoyed the peace and quiet. Glad you had a great Easter too. No chocolate Easter bunny for me but my friend did bring me over a rice krispie basket of Easter M&M's.
