Here is today's effort! (yes, I know - what HAVE I been doing???... well, for starters I went out "driving" with my 16 y.o. son with his shiny new L's - one hour later and I really should not have been using the rotary cutter after that!!!) notice I have no show and tell from last night? glass of red, lovely curry dinner and quite a good movie with Colin Firth - The Last Legion therefore no sewing!!
and here is the quilt so far.....
not the final layout obviously, but you get the idea. I am just cutting out two more sets, then I'll see how it all looks tomorrow. I might leave it at 20 blocks with borders, at least then it will be done! plus, I have used up all of the choices I had for the bright fabrics.
As I have been using the Wonder-Cut ruler method, I have lots of HST's left over, so I will make another quilt similar to this one... our good friends became 1st time Grandparents a few months back and their son and his little family are just about to move into their new home and as I recall, we never even sent them a congratulations card! So a quilt is definitely in order!!
Happy Sewing!
Very nice as usual. I think after an hour of L plate driving I would be hitting the bottle and definitely not going anywhere near anything sharp!
ReplyDeleteThe blocks are really looking wonderful. I agree that an hour with a learning driver would not be a good time to try the rotary cutter. Hower, the red might make for an interesting star. Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteHelen,
ReplyDeleteThat is lovely! I have got to get back on track with my stitching. Still no word of the little quilt I sent you. But, I bet you will be getting something else soon!
Love,
Glenda
