I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 66, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew, who is 27. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I’m enjoying treadling on my 201K Singer and I collect Miniature Sewing Machines and currently have three Essex , one Singer 20, one Singer 40, two Vulcan Miniatures and my latest, a Grain. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

DON'T LET THE STARS GET IN YOUR EYES.....

I've just about used up every song I know regarding stars!!!!!

It's been a slow week on the sewing front..... today I managed two more blocks.....

still have a couple to go!

So, what have I been up to these past few days???

B.B. and her Nannie and Poppie and Great Nana came over for morning tea on Friday - we had our Easter parcel for B.B. On Wednesday we decided that the house had better have a quick clean up before the visitors so we did that and then on Thursday we were invited out for a lunch so no sewing has been achieved for several days.

B.B. loved her Farm Quilt and all the little animals and treats that went with it...

B.B. also loved our home and the surrounding bush. She was last here when she was just a little baby!! She kept telling us about the Koalas and Kangaroos out in the trees..... sorry B.B. - no Koalas or Kangaroos but we do have big lizards!! She also told me I could only look at them.... no touching them!! O.K. no worries!! I might add, we actually do have Koalas... on the next hill to us and I think the nearest Kangaroo is way out at Brookfield or Lone Pine Sanctuary! Anyway, it was a lovely visit. My mum is 90 this July and we are very blessed to have her in our lives. B.B. is just so wonderful with her - little ones "know" don't they!!!!

All of the presents were well received. We played a game where we matched the little bath animals with the matching animal on the quilt. Also, I had bought a wooden magnetic farm animal set. So they all went on the quilt as well.

We all had such a wonderful time together... hope to have many more days like this one!

We are back to school this coming Monday.... hooray!!

Happy Sewing!!

  1. What a fun visit. Isn't it great when several generations can get together and enjoy each other. My mother really enjoys my two grandsons. I love your stars. Are you reversing each pair? What a great idea. I can't wait to see them all together.

  2. Hi Nancy! Yes, there is a positive and a negative. I have enough of the HST's leftover to make another quilt but I think I need a break from stars for a little while!

    Nice to hear from you!
