I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 66, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew, who is 27. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I’m enjoying treadling on my 201K Singer and I collect Miniature Sewing Machines and currently have three Essex , one Singer 20, one Singer 40, two Vulcan Miniatures and my latest, a Grain. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

THE CAT RULES!

No sewing for days.... really don't feel like it with the huge clean up trying to happen..... but thought I would show you our neighbour (we were looking after her over xmas and now she thinks our place is better than her place!) She's sitting on the arm of my chair, watching tv it appears and quite happy to be just part of our family! Her name is Holly and she is 13 years old. Last night I would not let her sit on my chair and she scratched me and growled too - drew blood and an instant bruise! She obviously has forgotten how I chastised her and tonight she is back purring and licking!

I'm off to the sewing room (yes, really!!) as I need to prepare a few Siggy Blocks - I have received my first one for 2010 (photo tomorrow) and although I have a couple spare, it's always nice to have a few more ready. I really love the Siggy swap!!

Happy Sewing!! Meow Meow!

  1. 1) Thought about telling you yesterday that you must decide - either a cat of a chair. You can´t have both!

    2) Tks, Helen, for the encouragement. Considering the machine I use, I can only do the hand appliqué, which I´ve got finished by now. I thought I´d have it ready today but have had company for dinner. What can I say...

  3. Yes Bia, I have chosen my chair!! The cat gave up coming up to our home last night.... no food=no cat!! They really are amazing creatures.... as long as you are the one feeding them-- they love you but as soon as the food goes, so do they!!!

Our Kookaburras however are another story - I will do a posting soon about them....
