TODAY'S FORECAST..... COOLER TEMPS, LIGHT RAIN AND LOTS OF SEWING!

Yes, we finally have another cool day!  so I have been trying to get some long overdue sewing accomplished.

First up is the Delightful Stars quilt-along.

I am sewing the blocks for the Delightful Stars quilt-along on my Singer 222k Featherweight.  As I had not sewn for a while, it took me a little while to get going again on the Featherweight but once I had all the settings right, I was on my way!  These blocks call for only a scant 1/4" seam so until I receive my scant 1/4" foot from April's 1930 Sewing Shop , I am using the seam guide (which works very well!).

Here is my little machine all set up for sewing --  note the pretty pin cushion!  ...  it is one of those wristlet pin cushions and fits around my machine so well!  As it is for using on your wrist, the pins don't go through the band so my machine won't get pin scratches!

Last week I did get the Kitty Quilt together.  It now also has a white border (need to take another photo)  and I'm just deciding about the next border.

This will be a knee quilt so it needs to grow out some more.  I will use up all the leftover fabrics in the final border and probably for the backing too.

Although the sashing looks complicated, partial piecing made it a breeze.   I can see myself using this method for lots of future quilts!

I know! I have the same two fabrics meeting each other, middle row on left but I'm not worried about that.

If I were to make this quilt again, I would simplify the eyes somehow as they were quite fiddly to stitch. The pattern actually machine stitched a lot of the features but I prefer to hand stitch.
