I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 63, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew who is 25. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I've recently started collecting Miniature Sewing Machines, three Essex , one Singer 20. one Singer 40 and a Vulcan Countess. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I've decided to join just about everyone else and claim my Blog on Bloglovin.  This is all a learning curve but I guess you just click on the Follow button in my sidebar.  I do like the format the reader opens up in and the pictures are really large.  We'll just have to see how this all comes together!  So, if I am following YOUR blog, I'm now doing it through Bloglovin.

Oh, two more Log Cabins built today.....

and here are the three from yesterday.....

only four more to make!!

  1. Hi Helen, what a lovely idea to use the aussie fabrics! I might do that too one day as I have many relatives overseas and one always wonders what to make for them. Hope you are keeping well! Love,Minette

  2. I do like your log cabins, I am not a fan of making them but I so love the different designs you can get.

  3. Your cabins are wonderful.

I think you will like Bloglovin.

  4. I honesty cannot think of anything more Aussie!

  5. Looking good Helen and your a fast worker once you get started.

  6. Helen can I pick your brains? I notice you have watermarks on your pictures. I want to put watermarks on my pics. But I'm finding it confusing to find out about. What programme/app do you use? Any hints and tips would be welcome. Thanks, Joy

  7. These blocks in Aussie fabrics are simply gorgeous! Well done Helen! :)

  8. Neat to see your log cabin pile growing - yo will have a very Australian quilt!!! I've been wondering about bloglovin too, as I was in the same situation as you - read through dashboard etc...but I didn't realise that if I didn't belong to bloglovin it might make it more tricky for others to read my blog...? Did it hurt to change?!

  9. LOVE your Aussie logcabins....well done...hugs Khris

  10. As I mentioned before, you have taken the Log Cabin to new heights with your fabric and placement.

  11. Just thinking the croc should appear hear anytime soon.

    Hope you can reply;)
