I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 61, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew who is 23. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

Operation update!

Tomorrow my husband Fred goes into The Wesley Hospital for his bowel operation.   He has been exercising twice daily to ensure he is as fit as can be which will aid in his recovery and we both feel very positive that all will go well.  We have been down this "pre op" road before but always with Heart operations.  Fred came through the two heart ops very well once again due to his fitness level being very good.

I am preparing lots of hand sewing to take to the hospital (he will be in for about 6 days following the operation) -lucky for me I just happen to have a considerable stash of fabric to choose from for some projects!

I will let you all know how everything goes,

Cheers from Helen
