I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 66, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew, who is 27. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I’m enjoying treadling on my 201K Singer and I collect Miniature Sewing Machines and currently have three Essex , one Singer 20, one Singer 40, two Vulcan Miniatures and my latest, a Grain. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

ACCESSORY BAG SWAP

Here is a sneak peak of the package I mailed off this week.   This swap is being hosted by Kris of Dandelion Quilts...  click    HERE     to go to Dandelion Quilts.    The bag I made is very different to the bags in the blog button, I hope my partner likes it!

I have had a strange week, with no other sewing to report apart from the bag swap goodies.  I will post full pictures once the package has been received.

Our teenage son turned 18 last week and we hosted the party here at our home....   yes, that was the loud party you could hear last weekend!    and those bright lights?  oh, that would be the laser light show we hired.  Honestly, what a night!!  I am just now getting over the tiredness I felt after the clean-up on Sunday.   I didn't make the gym once this week and all I seemed to have done is sit down in a heap - lucky for me the tennis and cricket has been on all day and night!!

So that's why I've been "all quiet on the blogging front" but I promise to return soon with lots of sewing show and tell,

Happy Sewing!!

  1. I can imagine how tired you must be. I think the exercise of cleaning up makes up for the gym!!!!

Nice bag. I'm sure your partner will love it.

  3. There's nothing like planning, having and cleaning up after a party to exhaust you - I'm not surprised you've given yourself a quiet week! Thank goodness for sport on TV - it has been hotter than usual here in Tassie this week, so I have been doing a fair bit of hand stitching and crochet in front of the cricket :)

  7. Hi, saw the wonderful sewing tote you made your swap partner... is that a pattern or your own design?
I enjoyed the swap too and look forward to Chris' next swap!
