I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 62, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew who is 24. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I've recently started collecting Miniature Sewing Machines, three Essex and one Singer 20 and a Vulcan Countess. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

The Patchwork variety that is.......

I was keeping cool in the sewing room today as it was very hot and humid outside....  so I played around in my scrap box from the Civil War blocks and this little Hot Cross Bun is the result.

These little blocks are so addictive!  Fun to make, and quick too!

I'm looking forward to tomorrow!  the next block will be posted for the Civil War Quilt!

Hope you are having a happy sewing day!

  1. Love the colours Helen.
It's hot and humid here too.

  2. Clever name for a really nice block!
Can't say we are hot and humid here though we may get above freezing for the first time since December...oh joy! Wisconsin winters - last 9 months and the other 3 are rough sledding...
