I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 66, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew, who is 27. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I’m enjoying treadling on my 201K Singer and I collect Miniature Sewing Machines and currently have three Essex , one Singer 20, one Singer 40, two Vulcan Miniatures and my latest, a Grain. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVOURITE THINGS........

Hi there!

I'm still a little "yucky" not sick, not well:-( Today was the first day back after holidays for our craft group. There was lots of talking and not much sewing! but a lovely morning!

As I've done absolutely NO sewing the past few days, I thought I would share with you some of my "collection". I have heaps more, in a sewing box hidden in the wardrobe.... will get it out and do another posting later.

Poor B.B.'s beach quilt is still at the machine..... waiting patiently for me to return..... perhaps tomorrow.

Happy Sewing!

  5. Thank you for sharing your lovely collections. I especially love the spool of glossy pink thread. While going through my thread drawers yesterday, I found a spool of pink Belding Corticelli thread that I bought when I got my first sewing machine in 1971. I remember how much I loved that brand. It was sold in the premium thread area at our local fabric store.

Glad to hear you are on the mend. That sounds like a very quick turnaround for a nasty thing like gall bladder surgery. I hope your family is pampering you.

  6. I love the darning eggs. I have two, my mom (who really is Aunty Henny to about 40 cousins) has about 5 of them.
