I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 66, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew, who is 27. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I’m enjoying treadling on my 201K Singer and I collect Miniature Sewing Machines and currently have three Essex , one Singer 20, one Singer 40, two Vulcan Miniatures and my latest, a Grain. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

POPPIES FOR POPPA AND ANOTHER SIGGY

Hi everyone! At last, the Poppy Quilt is finished and delivered. I was up 'till quite late on Tuesday night, putting the binding on and doing the label! I presented the quilt to the RSL yesterday at a Remembrance Day service at the shopping centre where my Dad used to sell the Badges and poppies for Remembrance Day.

I took a photo of my father's plaque on display at the shopping centre. My mother and my niece and B.B. were with me. Little B.B. was somewhat confused when I gave her the red poppy to hold during the service, because I kept saying "here's your poppy" and I'm sure she was looking around for her Poppy (as in Grandad)!!! Once the quilt is up on the wall at the RSL club I will take more photos.

I received another lovely Siggy block in the mail yesterday - this one is from Angelika.... THANK YOU ANGELIKA, your block is so beautiful. I now have a public album of my Siggy Blocks.

So now it's back to the Christmas Quilt and the zillion other projects which seem to be piling up all over my sewing room! The Beach Quilt is coming along nicely, I think I have about 8 blocks ready now.

Happy Sewing!
