I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 66, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew, who is 27. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I’m enjoying treadling on my 201K Singer and I collect Miniature Sewing Machines and currently have three Essex , one Singer 20, one Singer 40, two Vulcan Miniatures and my latest, a Grain. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

SEWING THERAPY

Sewing!  where would we be without it?     I took some "me" time yesterday and worked on the Zakka Style Pencil Case plus a present for my Great-nephew Lachie's 9th Birthday.

The pattern for the Colouring Wallet can be found HERE    I had given Lachie one of these Colouring Wallets for Xmas (in a Superman fabric) but he asked me if I could make another one in Transformer's fabric!!  Lucky for me I found some online - it is a cushion panel.

The Zakka Style Pencil Case in the original book is smaller than the one I made, as I also wanted to fit a Rotary Cutter in it.  I made mine cut at 4" and added around 2" to the length.  This one is my "prototype" but I'm going to make another one hopefully today.  I have purchased some lovely linen which is a tighter weave and also found some gorgeous linen ribbon.

Matt is recovering well.  Still sleeping lots but that's actually quite normal for him!  My husband had another CT scan yesterday so we are just waiting to hear from the Specialist now.

Happy Sewing!!
Helen
