I love to sew, mainly quilts and bags. I am 66, married to Fred and have one son, Matthew, who is 27. I enjoy embroidery and applique and prefer to machine piece and quilt my projects. I love my vintage Singer sewing machines especially my Featherweight 222K. I’m enjoying treadling on my 201K Singer and I collect Miniature Sewing Machines and currently have three Essex , one Singer 20, one Singer 40, two Vulcan Miniatures and my latest, a Grain. My love of sewing I believe comes from my Grandmother - I still have the drawings she made for me to embroider on tea towels many many years ago!

BORDER PATROL!

I found this quilt top in my "to do" box, minus borders but with the fabric all ready to go so I pieced up a scrappy border and voila!

It was a bit tricky trying to find the best spot to take the photo!!

Another Flimsy done!  I did the Applique on this quilt so long ago, I can't really remember when!!

I have the backing fabric for this one, so hopefully tomorrow I can get it ready to quilt.

Somewhere in amongst my things is the pattern .... when I find it I will let you know!!  It was in a magazine, that I do know!

Happy Sewing!!
Helen

  1. I am going to do the same thing. Start going through the piles, and see what I can get done. Cut out at least 25 pillow cases yesterday from older fabric. Now to sew them!! Good luck with your goals!

  2. The quilt is so pretty - it's great that it's being finished and out where it can be seen.
